HIPAA Compliance Training

HIPAA / HITECH Security Course

The HIPAA Security course educates employees on the physical security and confidentiality of PHI in all formats including electronic, paper and oral – and how it is created, received, used and maintained. A structure must be maintained in which PHI can be used for treatment, payment and other required functions -- while safeguarding information from unauthorized disclosure and implementing adequate physical, technical and administrative controls.

HIPAA / HITECH Privacy Course

The privacy course helps employees understand what information is private, why it is private and what they can do to protect it. It also focuses on the rights of individual patients and their ability to control their health information.

The online training courses offered by HIPAAcraticRx are just one of the components of our comprehensive 5-step HIPAA compliance program. They are incorporated into our full service package or are available as a stand-alone program.

HIPAA compliance training ensures that you, your company, and all of your employees, are doing everything in your power to protect personal health information (PHI).

Training is not simply a “best practice” -- it is legally required for all employees handling PHI. HIPAA compliance training must be implemented, regardless of a Covered Entity’s size or annual budget. Due to the fast pace of change in medical technology, annual training is considered optimal.

HIPAAcraticRx provides a web-based training designed to foster a privacy-conscious culture across an entire organization. Legal content is reviewed by the nationally recognized employment law firm Fisher Phillips.

HIPAAcraticRx monitors training progress, sends out staff reminders and provides Certificates of Completion for office records. We also send out alerts to train new hires and when it's time to renew annual training.

Our high-quality programs go a step further than simply meeting training requirements found in the Privacy and Security Rules and the HIPAA Omnibus Rule. They engage employees and teach them the importance of safeguarding Protected Health Information to reduce your risk of a HIPAA violation.

HIPAAcraticRx offers separate curricula for medical practices and their business associates. Each program consists of two courses: one for security and the other for privacy. Both courses include integrated supervisor training, so that courses can be used for both employees and supervisors. Courses can be accessed from either work or personal computers.
